A pre-toddler are those babies from 12-17 months. They are no longer babies but can’t do yet the Pinterest activities for Toddlers. At 18 Months, they are officially a toddler.

Easter is around the corner and with everyone creating egg hunts and filling plastic eggs with chocolates I felt a little left out with my pre-toddler.

Manny is 14 months so he is too young to participate in the typical egg hunt, color matching, jelly bean sorting or coloring eggs crafts.

And you know me, I refuse to be left out in the fun! and if you are here, you are too.

I decided to create my own type of Easter egg activities for baby and pre-toddlers like Manny. Let’s have our own fun until they turn 18 months and we can join in the toddler activities.

1. The Easter Egg Hunt – Baby Edition

Grab a container with a lid.

Get a bunch of Easter eggs from the dollar store

Add some rice, bells and even smaller sized eggs inside some of the plastic eggs

Add some Easter grass inside the container

How to play

Let baby take the eggs out of the container and discover what’s inside the eggs

Many loved putting the eggs back inside the container as well ?remember, their attention span is short at this stage

He was entertained for at least 15minutes – which is longer than a regular activity at this age

2.Colored Rice Sensory Bin

Don’t be afraid to introduce sensory bins early on

Sensory bins are a great way to introduce different textures and activities. They will enjoy them even more when they are toddlers so this is a great time to introduce the concept.

Grab some colored rice, a shovel, cups, toys and let them explore the textures as they pour, and feel the rice in their hands. They will want to drop the rice in different places and experiment with cause and effect.

Easter Activities for babies can be done outside or inside

We recommend you do this outside or in a place where you are ok with the mess.

3. Fluffy Bunny

Easter inspired activities for babies and older kids too

This one was a favorite from the Easter Activity Kit. It was an easter activity for babies but we found out quickly that it was one that everyone seemed to enjoy.

Using sticky paper, draw a bunny. Cut the shape and with tape, place it at the table (sticky side up). Grab some cotton and show baby how to place them on top of the sticky paper. Let them continue as they complete this activity for babies.

a variation to this activity would be to make it as a picture frame like this:

4. Hard Boil Easter Eggs

This one was an experiment that turned out super cool. It made it to our Instagram feed and our mommies seem to love it to!

Your baby doesn’t have to miss all the fun! they can have their own activities this easter and enjoy the season as they welcome spring.
